Helping Homeless Veterans is our spotlight on Wichita today with my interview with Donna Allen Chandler, Program Director for Shalom Home, a Transitional Living for Homeless Veterans.

On Friday, March 13, 2015 Donna resigned from the City of Wichita’s, Water utilities after 25 years of service, to focus full time on her passion to help veterans.

But full of energy and purpose to do more, Donna did not confine herself to that job, she had a few entrepreneurial adventures during that same time frame… ~ A wardrobe for you boutique (consignment clothing) ~ Chandler's Fish Dock (carryout restaurant) ~ Heelin Soles (shoe and accessory consignment shop)

Then in early 2000 along with a good friend Renee, Donna launched Shalom Homes of Wichita. This is a very well kept secret in Wichita and I’m so glad Donna is going to tell us this story…but first here are the basic facts of the results of Donna and her friend Renee's collaboration.

Please listen in and share this story everywhere, even if you're not in Wichita.  Our veterans need our support, our help and a united show of our appreciation for all the sacrifice they have given and their families sacrifices, too.  Thank you for listening.

Passing On A Smile,

Gail
