Do you often say those words - I've got baggage?  I think we've all expressed that to someone in our life time, but unless you're a newborn, I'm thinking you've got some...

However, as I've expressed before - perception is everything.  So I have chosen to share with you my thoughts on how 'baggage' can really have a much more positive reflection than previously thought, of course, this is just my perception :-)

I truly believe and I know when you give it some thought you might agree, every little experience we have ever had, no matter how big or how small has helped form who we are...but instead of describing it as baggage...how about "Hey, I've had a whole lot of experiences, good, bad and ugly!"

The reason for this thought pattern today comes from a conversation I had with a dear friend. She was talking about a new relationship, having been divorced for years and raising 2 children on her own for many years she is very cautious and determined this new man understand she brings a lot of 'baggage' into the relationship.

That really kept bouncing around in my head, because it seemed as if it was a bad thing...which in my view it's just who we become.   Our baggage is us!  You meet someone, professionally, personally, romantically...all things considered who are you meeting? Every single experience in their life that has made them, them and brought you to cross paths.

You can't travel in this world in a vacuum - everyone comes with baggage, some more than others, but forgiveness for your own that you wish you did not bring and forgiveness for theirs, but mostly acceptancing this character was formed (side note if you don't like what you see - move on :-)
