I was listening to someone one day and this subject just came to me. And as I listen some more, I am truly amazed by the resistance some people have to receiving.  Truly, some people are so determined not to accept a gift, a kind word, help.  They don't feel worthy?

Do you know anyone that poo-poo's a compliment and goes into a long explanation of why it isn't as special as your compliment was? Or someone says 'it's so hard for me to ask for help'. I guess I can relate in some ways as growing up we've all (or most of us, I believe) have heard the phrase - "It's better to give than to receive." But wait a minute, how does the world work if everyone is giving and no one is receiving? I feel a serious tilt going on here.

So my show today is basically my take on this dilemma. I've not read this book, but when I went looking for books about receiving I found some awesome titles, and this one that received a 2016 Book Award.  The link takes you right to Amazon page:

The Power of Receiving: A Revolutionary Approach to Giving Yourself the Life You Want and Deserve Paperback – Deckle Edge

It's funny there are a lot of books about giving - one of my favorites is
"The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann. I was given this book by a friend who signed it, "...thanks for all of your giving." Imagine if I wasn't a good receiver and did not accept that gift...you get what I'm talking about?
